SOVICILLE (SIENA)- VILLA WITH PARK AND LAND
1800's villa with 20 ha of land. Light stone structure on three floors with a rectangular plan and splendid internal courtyard with arcade. The building is elegantly linear, it's surmounted by battlements. Tha villa has round arched windows on the ground and third floors while the first floor is characterized by mullioned windows with a pointed arch. The interiors, large and bright, are characterized by terracotta floors or inlay-type flooring. The cross vaults alternate with the barrel vaults. The staircase with rounded travertine steps is surprising for its lightness. The main hall is striking for the wooden cladding of the walls and the monumental fireplace. There is an octagonal chapel characterized by a mosaic-type floor. The room are frescoed and with original finishes. Outside the villa, other buildings used as a warehouse or storage. There is an Italian-style park.
